Dear Ms Gaudin - I recently
(and quite by chance) came across the EG Society and your article. Might I
respectfully ask you to have resort not to your spell checker, but to a proof
reader, so as to do yourself and Elizabeth Goudge literary justice Regards and
best
wishes for 2009 Margaret Donnelly
Dear Mrs Donnelly,
This site is run by myself on a voluntary basis, for the love of promoting
Elizabeth Goudge's work and life. Unfortunately I can not afford the luxury of a
proof reader. The Biography was one of the first pieces I wrote for the site, as
I felt that it was a necessary item to have. I hope that both my skills and
professionalism have improved in the two years since then. However, your email
prompted me to take a look at the piece, and I can see that it does need
polishing.
thank you for your input
Deborah Gaudin
I am sorry if I sounded
impertinent, it is just that I have a horror of
the miss spelt word and the spell checker, while handy does not know as much as
it thinks it does. But as you say, it is worth it to promote the work of
Elizabeth Goudge. I too live in the shadow of a cathedral (Ripon). I admire
anyone who is prepared to do something to further a cause
Best regards Margaret Donnelly >
Dear Margaret,
I keep meaning to add your email to the Goudge Talk list and I just forget! I
have so much going on at the moment, that it keeps slipping my mind.
You were not in the slightest bit impertinent, I valued your remarks, which were
valid.
I know that you live a long way away, but I will be inviting you to the first
ever Convention shortly.
I WILL put in the emails next month, and thank you again for your input,
Dear Deborah - thank you for
your e-mail - I too know how easily one can allow oneself to get diverted (NOT
"senior moments"). I look forward to hearing the details for the forthcoming
Goudge convention.
regards Maggie Donnelly
