About the author:<\/p>\n
Elizabeth Goudge (1900-84) was the author of several novels, short stories and children’s books. Goudge was awarded the Carnegie Medal for The Little White Horse (1946), a book which J. K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, lists among her childhood favourites. Green Dolphin Country (1944) appeared in the US as Green Dolphin Street, and was subsequently \u00a0adapted as a film under the same name.<\/p>\n
